International Response
You cannot help but be moved by these inspiring young people and their commitment to something larger than themselves. The viewer of the documentary is introduced to a group of young people who challenge every stereotype of American youth solely focused on consumption and self. It is a wonderful story of community meeting communities and creating new communities. The impact of this extraordinary experience on each individual rider’s life in their journey across the years will be immeasurable but certainly it will be positive on the many lives they will touch because they have been transformed so deeply by the grace of their time together.
– Brother Robert Schieler, General Councilor, Brothers of the Christian Schools
WOW! Let me say it again...WOW! What an extraordinary production in every way. It's a PR tool that will not soon be outdated and it captures the heart of the ride in wonderful fashion.
— Brother Charles Kitson, Secretary, Brothers of the Christian Schools worldwide
Loved it! I need to see it at least another 3 times! I believe you've made it! You have a strong tool for recruitment and development. I think it grasps very well who the LVs are, what you do and HOW you do it. Great stuff.
— Joseph Gilson, International Coordinator for Young Lasallians
Memphis, TN (Christmas showing)
This documentary beautifully captured the strength of the human spirit and the power of the Lasallian mission. God bless the riders.

- Dylan Perry (LV 2010-2011)
Inspirational. I think the film is a great medium to expose other people to the mission of the Lasallian Volunteers.
- Angela Toomer (LV 2011-2012)
This was the second time I've seen the documentary, and it was just as inspiring, if not more inspiring, than the first time I saw it. As a cyclist myself, I know how tough riding can be, so I have so much respect for all of the riders who participated, whether they rode 2 miles or all 3600 miles! Five thumbs up!!
- Kristi Prevost
Very inspirational. The Lasallian Volunteers have such physical and spiritual strength that this documentary highlights in the perfect way.
- Leigh Hill
When's the next ride? I'm ready! Tom Cook made a profound observation when he said that for the poor, having enough to eat can feel like an uphill ride, not knowing where the rent money is going to come from... I hope that I can do something in my life to make others' ride a little easier.
- Catherine Montesi
It was inspiring to see the journey my friends took this summer. At CBU we talk about entering to learn and leaving to serve; I am proud to have friends who live that mission.
- Caroline Mitchell Carrico
Every day we are barraged with stories that push us towards despair and hopelessness. LVs Ride reminds us of the way a small group of passionate individuals can awaken the best in those around them and push society to change.
- Christopher Peterson
[This film] shows what faith, service, and community means and what it can do to change life if you do it.

Great job Nishant and Al. I feel very proud to have been a part of this even though it was only for a short time. Great memories. I was happy that I was able to share this with my students to teach them about fighting poverty, while also helping them learn more about the Lasallian mission, the Lasallian world and the Lasallian Volunteers.

That looked so fun… I would love to see the country like that.

The fact that these incredible individuals biked across the country to raise awareness of a world issue has left me speechless. I am actually inspired to participate in a bike riding fundraiser myself. This documentary was truly moving and I am touched by these people coming together as a team to make a difference.

The thing that stood out to me was the fact that they put their back tires in the Pacific and their front tires in the Atlantic. That was so inspiring to me. I want to complete a journey like that someday.

Nishant and Al, good job on the documentary! It brought back many sights and memories that I had kind of not thought about in a while from our awesome adventure this summer!
- Tom Cook
Loved the documentary! It made me want to do the WHOLE ride and the LV program all over again. Awesome work. Props to all who had a part in making this a reality from beginning to end.
- Sara Vogelpohl
Wow! Great job on the video!
- Brother Larry Schatz, Midwest District Provinical
The documentary was enlightening and inspiring. It has really reinvigorated my passion for advocating for service. The great thing about the documentary is that it doesn't recount the story of the ride, but rather tells the story of a small group living a mission and a passion, inspiring others and bringing those outsiders into the community. This story is going to hold up much better over time, hopefully continuing to inspire others to choose to make a difference.
